Nana Glen studio open by appointment

Hello and thank you so much for taking the time to visit us here.

You can email Richilde at or say hello on Instagram @girlnomadceramics

Towards the end of 2020 we moved to Nana Glen in New South Wales, Australia. We packed up eight years of our life in Canberra, along with our new baby Caleb, who was born in June and our dog and cat and moved to northern NSW.  It's a whole new adventure running a small business and working out how to be a parent. So here we are, in the process of building a studio in the back yard and looking forward to the time I can pop out to thrown and trim some work between naps and loads of washing. It's going to work, right!?

Richilde Flavell was a Canberra-based ceramic artist. Her contemporary ceramic tableware business, Girl Nomad Ceramics, complements her exhibition work, including collaborative projects with makers in other design fields. Her work’s generous forms evoke the warmth and materiality of clay both in its raw, unfired state and the transformation of the plastic clay into high-fired ceramic form.

Since graduating from the ANU School of Art and Design with a Bachelor of Visual Arts (Ceramics), Richilde has become an active member of the ceramic community, planning and producing creative events, as well as teaching. She enjoyed introducing beginners to the joy of ceramics and helping more advanced students refine their skills as a teacher at the Canberra Potters Society, as well as other workshops and private lessons.
